Is Jesus The Only Way To Salvation?
Some will say that they are basically good people, so they will go to heaven. Some say they do more good things than bad things, so they will go to heaven also.
They say "God won't send me to hell just because I don't live according to the teaching in the Bible. God is gracious, only those who are really bad like child molesters, rapers and murderers will go to hell."
What is the truth? Satan, the ruler of this world, plants these thoughts in our mind. Satan always disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), but he has control over all the minds of non believers.
As the god of this evil world, he has blinded the countless minds of non believers, so they are unable to see the glorious light of the Gospel that is shining upon them!
People sometimes object to the Christian belief that salvation is available only through Jesus Christ. In our pluralistic society, the concept of freedom of religion is sometimes misinterpreted to mean that all religions are somehow equally true. some will say all paths lead to the same God.
Muslims claim to have the best revelation of God. Hindus believe that they are right, and Buddhist believe what they do is right.
All paths do not lead to the same God. The different religions even describe different gods. The Hindu has many gods, and describes salvation as a return to nothingness, certainly a different destination than the Muslim emphasis on monotheism and heavenly rewards. Neither the Muslim nor the Hindu would agree than their paths eventually lead to the same destination.
We believe that the Christian gospel is correct, while at the same time allowing people to not believe it. As we understand it, faith requires that people have liberty not to believe.
But while we affirm the right for people to believe as they decide, this does not mean that we believe all faiths are true. Allowing other people to believe as they wish does not mean that w have to quit believing that Jesus is the only way of salvation.
